A new art installation has emerged in France to do the wonders of everyone that walks by and doesn’t get indifferent to the glorious large sculpture.
The Wicker Pavilion is designed combining contemporary architecture and traditional craftsmanship. It offers a place for relaxation and meditation in the heart of Jardins de l’Europe in Annecy, France.
The modern art pavilion blends in with the surrounding landscape and forms a shaded space for park visitors to shelter from the hot summer sun. Pavilion offers beautiful views to the surrounding nature, thus creating a communion between the sheltered space and the exterior. Filtered daylight through pavilion inspires eyes and mind to travel.
When the sun hits the structure of this art installation, it casts intricate triangular patterns on the grass inside and nearby, allowing it to merge with the rest of the garden rather than blanket it in a shadow. As the pavilion ages, the natural materials will darken and further blend with the surrounding environment.
A new, woven modern design structure in the Jardins de l’Europe in Annecy, France, offers respite from direct sunlight without completely blocking out the light source. The Wicker Pavilion is comprised of pine planks that are formed into a shell, which is covered with 262 wicker baskets that are hand-woven by Latvian craftsmen. Do you love this art installation? Designed by Didzis Jaunzems Architecture, the project is part of this year’s Annecy Passages festival.
