Designer Alexandre Chapelin of LA Table, a company dedicated to unique and customizable tables, designed this amazing tables that he defines as Lagoon Tables.
Each table is formed from a carved travertine base to which he adheres a special resin that forms volumes of water that appear to slice through each piece. The tables are undoubtedly influenced by Chapelin’s immediate surroundings on the small Caribbean island of Saint Martin where his studio is based.
The concept of La Table is to create unique, artistic, attractive designs that fit to their future owners as much as possible. Designs have to be contemporary by its manufacturing technique and, of course, surprising. They always include something, for example resin, inside the material whether it is wood, marble, or metal.

As far as the soul and the story are there, it is rather simple – we need to collect pieces of wood, old motors, alloys, recycled material, and those parts have to have an extremely souped up visual graphics to be as much attractive to the eye as possible.
The studio says: “Now that the table is distinctive, modern and surprising, we add resin materials that suit you the most, making it a single table. And the most interesting thing with this concept is that we can include anything that comes into our mind.”
The pristine blue waters that make up his backyard are re-envisioned as a special resin that, when formed to the Tavertine marble base and top, appear to show a volume of the ocean, complete with the drops and slopes characteristic of a lagoon.
