World renown interior designer, Kelly Wearstler collaborated with LA ceramics craftsman Ben Medansky, on a limited edition tableware collection called the Pyrite Collection.
Ben, an Arizona native, studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, before moving to LA to work at studios of Peter Shire, Shio Kusaka and the Haas Brothers. At the age of 24, he started his own practice, exploring the art he understands and loves the most – crafting ceramics and pottery.
Ben’s collaboration with Kelly sees a gracious blend of his signature sleek lines and minimal style, with the iconic designer’s luxurious touch, and detail oriented aesthetic. The combination of light ceramic colour with the punctual golden components make Pyrite highly coveted by anyone with an appetite for design.

Ben Medansky is an orchestrator of controlled chaos, a sculptor of hard edges in naturalistic worlds, a refiner of industrial aesthetics that retain rough and human qualities. Ben Medansky is a ceramicist. Ben’s desire to make forms was forged by the bright blue skies and soaring mineral formations of his home state of Arizona.
Medansky interpreted Kelly’s vision for uniquely raw and refined artisan tablewares for this collaborative collection in strikingly simple and ornamented shapes. This uniquely raw and refined cup is an artful addition to any table.
Pyrite collection brings an elegantly refined addition to Medansky’s unique, minimalist wares.
