At Art Basel, Fendi created a new concept of exhibiting. The Craft Alchemy is like flying furniture that can surprise anyone.
For this creations performim at Design Miami, Fendi invited designer Elisa Strozyk and Sebastian Neeb.
It consists on a series of antique furniture pieces inspired by Palazzo Fendi, the grand Neo-Classical building. The furniture was created using Fendi discarded leather materials allowing the Fendi spirit to permeate the furnishings.
The pieces are suspended by wires bringing us the illusion of flying furniture, strung from the ceiling like a puppet. We can also find a no legs piano.
Besides a dresser that the designers bought on e-bay, they have designed their own cabinets and consoles and used Fendi leather to mimic intricate Enlightenment-era ornamentation, such as carvings and marquetry.
Taking in account the regular fair booths we use to see, we can say that this is quite a transformation and a great way to call attentions. We lobo it, definitely inspiring…
