Just in these months, the hotel reviews the final stage of a thorough renovation, which both extends the number of rooms with a new wing and, above all, offers a brand new design reflecting a desire to create a timeless relaxed luxury.
It is the Norwegian design company Anemone Wille Våge, who is the head of the interior design architect Hilde Aasbø, and this is the first time the award-winning design company designs in Denmark. Anemone Wille Våge has designed a number of Scandinavian hotels and restaurants and was recently honoured with a location on the Conde Nast’s Gold List 2017 for The Thief Hotel in Oslo. And while the approach is more international than Danish, the new design is on SKT. PETRI nevertheless inspired by the original colours and materials.
The project includes Feel lamp by Boca do Lobo.
“Our design clearly determines the building’s tightness and many beautiful details, especially in the choice of colours and materials, we are inspired by Wilhelm Lauritzen. We complement this with a rich and slightly softer interior that contrasts with the original lines, giving a deep and exciting experience of relaxed luxury, “explains Hilde Aasbø.
At the time of the re-opening, the number of rooms was expanded to a total of 288. All rooms will be completely renovated and the colossal atrium lobby will appear in a completely changed, colourful design with hotel restaurant, bar and lounge area. In addition, the hotel’s patio re-opens in a beautiful extension of the restaurant and lobby area. Today, the hotel offers 288 rooms of which 26 are suites, a restaurant and bar, lounge area, seven meeting rooms as well as a patio and fitness area.
The official reopening was on the June 8th.
SKT. PETRI is located in Vilhelm Lauritz’s preserved 1928 building, formerly housed by Daells Department Store. After the building had run out since the closure of the department store in 1999, it was completely renovated in 2002-2003 by Erik Møller Architects, who also supplied the large atrium glass facade in the hotel lobby area.
