Superblue, a 50,000 square foot experimental art center will be launched early this spring in Miami city. “Every Wall Is a Door,” will feature Es Devlin, teamLab, and James Turrell‘s artworks. This groundbreaking new art center aims to showcase different types of large-scale artworks!

Housed in a former industrial building across from Miami’s contemporary Rubell Museum in the Allapattah neighborhood, Superblue Miami will feature separate event areas for talks, performances, and workshops. A well-known artwork by prominent light and space artist James Turrell will also be part of this exhibition. The Ganzfeld installation involves guests in a room of monochrome lighting that distorts spatial dimensions!

The art center will display a collection of dazzling three-dimensional works by renowned creators already known for their contributions to experiential art. Japanese collective teamLab, recognized for their impressive digital art inspired by light and nature, contributed an installation called Between Life and Non-Life!

A third gallery offers artists a blank space to develop new ideas and host rotating exhibitions. Es Devlin also created a captivating immersive environment for Superblue Miami’s opening showcase. Dubbed Forest of Us, Devlin’s installation contains a massive mirrored maze that simultaneously represents the human breathing process and the inner structure of trees.

If a trip to Florida to visit this immersive art experience doesn’t quite feel possible for you, Superblue hopes to open additional exhibitions around the globe, giving more opportunities for art not easily installed in a traditional institutional setting!
