Japanese designer Satsuki Ohata was inspired in cheese fondue to create a stool that looks like melting cheese. The yellow stool called Fondue was first presented at Milan design week 2015.
Manufacturing process is very simple. As if submerged in cheese sauce, the sponge is then remoced and dried with hot air dives. By doing this you can see the sponge, which has a high absorption rate, changing its natural form because of the weight and gravity. As the piece dries, gravity and PVC weigh the sponge downwards, molding it until it freezes in a solidified state.
It doesn’t look delicious but it’s certainly a one of a kind piece.
