An on-going photography art project by Justin Bettman, ‘Set in the Street‘ consists of elaborate interior spaces made from unwanted or discarded materials and furniture. Rising star artist Justin Bettman is making a name for himself by turning found-on-the-street objects into installation art gold.

Justin Bettman is a portrait and editorial photographer and director. After shooting photos in the spaces, the photography art‘s sets are left up on the street, where passersby can shoot their own photos and share using the Instagram hashtag #SetintheStreet. The final photographs Justin shoots explore the complex ideas of perspective and perception by revealing the larger picture that we often overlook. These photography art series show a picture-perfect scenario in chaotic surroundings, clearly resembling some moments in real life.

For this photography art, Bettman transforms New York City sidewalks into photo shoot-ready vignettes — actors, costumes, and all — then leaves the awe-inspiring remains to be re-appropriated by random passersby and literally re-claimed, object by object until there’s nothing left.
