New York Fashion Week has arrived, to break down the best of the best. In the first 3 days the shows were full of swing, color, shapes, this is where everyone is trying to spot the trends that we will be wearing this season and beyond.
We selected the highlight of the first 3 days of NYFW Fall 2015 .
The designer confessed on backstage that buyers and retailers often request “the black version” of one of his covetable designs season after season, his preferred hue is usually peppered with at least a few full-colour options here and there.
“A lot of it was about taking pleasure in dressing up,” the designer said at a preview. Those trademark slit skirts are still here, “It’s nice when you reach a certain point where people start to understand what you’re about so you can sort of break out of it and take it somewhere else.” mention.
“It’s about taking volume and structure and turning it on its head,” – Beckham said backstage. The silhouettes were body-conscious but not over-the-top, the colour palette was vibrant but wearable and the clever use of asymmetry made some pieces pop like art .
Light brown wooden wall coverings set the foundation for the palette of brown hues, enlivened by burnt orange, camel and blue tones.
Donna Karan injected her lineup with a feminine flair and a tailored masculine undertone. This collection was design for the”The New York woman who dresses day to night, who’s illuminated by black with shots of colour and neon lights. The young working woman, the ageless working woman…”
Diane von Furstenberg
DVF debuted a rather sassy lineup . The designer said at the backstage “When you get old, you better enjoy your past.” And “You better be proud of your past, and live fully!”The show was named by ‘Seduction’ one can expect some sass, and it strutted down von Furstenberg’s runway in bundles.
The Autumn/Winter 15 pieces blur the lines between resort wear and evening: “I just wanted to do this beautiful luxurious sportswear that… spoke about the woman, spoke about the girl…And that’s my vocabulary. What I wanted to do was bring the glamour of the evening wear to the sportswear, and the ease and comfort of the sportswear to the evening,” he said.
