‘Les Bosquets’ is the name of the new project of the French street artist, JR. The trailer of his upcoming film released this week, which is based on the story of Ladj Ly and the ‘Les Bosquets’ performance at the New York City Ballet.
Inspired by the Les Bosquets performance at the New York City Ballet, renowned street artists JR has directed and produced a movie that is inspired by his Portrait of a Generation and ballet projects, on a music by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams and Woodkid, will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, in April.
The ballet “Les Bosquets” of New York City Ballet was inspired by the riots in the French suburbs in 2005,has been the base to the movie. The Monterfermeil ghetto is the set where the photographer created his first project Portrait of a Generation.
This film is a continuation of this project that he has been working for ten years, for which he uses various means of expression and narration: video archives, choreography and testimony.
The production will be exhibited on a few select museums and galleries in the coming months.
