The winter edition of Maison et Objet has just ended and this is the time where design brands and modern artists unveil a few of their modern design pieces that will thrive during the year that is ahead of us. Coincidentally, Virgil Abloh has designed a 20-piece art furniture collection for Galerie Kreo, comprising round and coffee tables, consoles, seats, vases, and mirrors.

‘Like these wildflowers that fit into the interstices and corners of urban space, the holes, formal accidents, and graffiti that cover and personalize — in different ways each time — the concrete surface offers a visual and emotional texture to recharge our immediate environment: a landscape where the rigidity of structures and urban planning meets the randomness of organic growth and human appropriation and mark-making,’
says galerie kreo.

Virgil Abloh‘s desire was to bring color to Galerie Kreo‘s white space. The artist wanted to give to the entire art gallery a true pop of color throughout his contemporary art creations.

‘Bench 2’, at nearly three meters (10 ft) in length — this modern design reminiscent of a skate ramp. Rilled with irregular holes at regular intervals, and covered with graffiti the bench is described as a ‘trojan horse’ dedicated to the deconstruction of the generic and conversations on the here and now.

Both the modern artist and Galerie Kreo say that the entire aim of this collection is a question of producing an interaction contemporary design, where the dialogue between the producer and the user is horizontal.
